On a ski tour in the Großvenediger and Großglockner area

The untouched nature, secluded valleys and the sea of 266 three-thousand-metre peaks make East Tyrol a paradise for ski tourers. The tour to Berger Kogel (2,656 m) is one of the classic tours in the Virgental valley. To enjoy this sporty skiing adventure, you only have to strap on your skis outside the hotel and off you go.

Cross-country skiing

On the trail of nature. Kilometres of cross-country ski trails wind their way through the snow-covered landscape. Perfectly groomed for classic and skating styles, for beginners and experts alike. The Bobojach cross-country ski trail entrance is within walking distance of the hotel. Thanks to the Osttirol cross-country ski trail ticket, nothing will stop you from enjoying a trip to the cross-country ski trails in Virgen, Defereggental or Tauerntal.

Skiing & snowboarding

Skiing fun with plenty of space on the slopes and no waiting times at the lifts. The choice is yours: the small and inexpensive family ski area Prägraten is ideal for beginner skiers and families. In the Großglockner Resort ski area, 17 state-of-the-art lifts, perfectly groomed pistes and a tremendous mountain panorama towards 60 three-thousand metre peaks await you. The bus stop for the free ski bus is right outside the hotel.

Fancy a break from skiing? Here, nature itself is an unforgettable experience. Winter in East Tyrol offers a variety of winter pleasures.

Gallop through the snow and feel the freedom. Riding in winter is a cool change on a winter holiday. Your horse-powered adventure through the winter wonderland begins in our riding stable next door.

Snowshoeing & winter hiking

Wildly romantic walks through the quiet winter landscape. Breathe in the fresh mountain air. Let go of stress and worries. When out on a winter hike, disconnecting and calming down come almost automatically. You can reach wonderful winter hiking trails, such as the Wallhorn circuit, directly from the hotel. In harmony with nature is the motto of the guided snowshoe hikes in the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern. On the trail of wild animals, the rangers will show you the most beautiful places in the region. As a national park partner, we can offer you a guided hike free of charge.

Tobogganing

Hear the snow crunching under your shoes, enjoy the mountain panorama and enjoy a snowball fight every now and then. Sledging is fun in the snow for the whole family. Before you speed back down into the valley.

The natural toboggan run to the Würfelehütte is floodlit in the evening and offers toboggan hire directly on site.

Ice climbing

The Eispark Osttirol, Austria’s largest ice climbing park, is located in the neighbouring Tauerntal valley. With around 80 tours, the park is a hit with every climbing fan.
