First, a wild and romantic ascent through the Zopatnitzental valley Once you reach the Berger See lake, you are rewarded by the overwhelming panorama of the Venediger group, which accompanies you all the way to the Lasnitzenhütte.

Guided mountain tour to the Großvenediger

The shortest route to the so-called “world-old majesty” begins in Prägraten. Take the Venediger taxi to the Johannis Hütte (2,121 m) and from there to the Defreggerhaus. With the mountain guide, you rope up over imposing glacier surfaces up to the summit (3,657 m).

From the Lienz valley floor to the glacier gate at Umbalkees in the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern.
